Government Energy Efficiency Program

GEEP Agencies

The NT Government Energy Efficiency Program (GEEP) provides $6 million over three years for implementing projects that will reduce the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions of the five highest energy using NT Government agencies.

Participating agencies can take advantage of the available funds to:

  • implement energy upgrades, without diverting capital from core activities;
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions; and
  • progress towards the Northern Territory Climate Change Policy target of one third reduction in energy intensity across agency building portfolios.

The Sustainability Unit works with participating agencies to identify potential energy saving projects that will undergo a detailed investigation to identify the project energy, greenhouse and cost savings as well as implementation costs. The economic, environment and social benefits of the identified project are independently verified by a third party and recommended for funding. For more information download the GEEP Fact Sheet.
